Three steps to scheduling, what to expect on a farm call, and how billing works. If anything is unclear, call the front desk and we will walk you through it.
How to get started.
-
Call or send a request.
Use the appointment form or call (320) 634-3558. Have your horse's age, recent history, and current vaccine and Coggins status handy if you have them.
-
We confirm and prep.
We will get back to you with a date and a price estimate. For farm calls, expect a confirmation of your address and the access details we need (gate code, where to park the truck, who will be there to handle the horse).
-
The visit happens.
Dr. Paige examines your horse, walks you through what she sees, and leaves a written record. If a follow-up is needed she will schedule it before she leaves or call you within a day.
What to expect on a farm call.
Most routine work happens at your barn. Dr. Paige travels with the equipment for wellness exams, vaccinations, dental floats, Coggins draws, lameness workups, and chiropractic or acupuncture sessions.
Haul-in appointments can be accommodated when scheduling. For more involved cases, we may recommend a referral hospital and will discuss the right setting before the appointment.
Plan on a quiet, well-lit area with a handler available. A halter and lead, water, and a stall or grooming bay are usually all that is needed for a routine visit.
Payment options.
We accept cash, check, and major credit cards at the time of service. For larger procedures, CareCredit offers veterinary financing you can apply for in advance. Online bill pay is available at our payment portal.
Frequently asked questions.
Do you do farm calls?
Yes. Most routine visits happen on the farm, and haul-in appointments can be accommodated when scheduling. For more involved cases, we may recommend a referral hospital.
What area do you serve?
Glenwood, MN and the surrounding communities. If you are unsure whether your address is in our service area, call the front desk.
When are equine emergency hours?
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. Every other weekend (the 2nd and 4th weekends). See the Emergency page for the full triage protocol.
Can I get records sent over from a previous vet?
Yes. Email us your previous vet's contact and the front desk will request your horse's records before the first visit.
Do you handle pre-purchase exams?
Yes. Pre-purchase exams are a regular part of our work. Call to schedule and we will discuss what level of exam fits the horse and the intended use.
What if I need a Coggins test or health certificate?
Both are handled as part of primary care. For interstate travel and many shows, plan ahead because Coggins results take a few days from the lab.
